The analysis results verify the rationality of the electromagnetic piezoelectric hybrid driven three-degree-of-freedom motor. It shows that the contact state of the three sets of piezoelectric stators are determined according to the driving condition and load, the relative speed of the piezoelectric stators and the spherical rotor is proportional to the frictional force. It provides an idea for the research of contact state of hybrid drive multi-degree-of-freedom motor, and also lays a basis for further optimizing the friction interface of this kind of motors or actuators.Contemporary dosing strategies for rabbit anti-thymocyte globulin (rATG) in kidney transplantation aim to reduce cumulative exposure, minimizing long-term adverse events. The use of ideal body weight-based dosing has been trialed, however concern for increased rejection post-transplant exists due to lower doses of rATG. Research Questions The primary aim of this study was to compare rejection rates between rATG dosing protocols using actual body weight and ideal body weight and secondarily to evaluate cost savings following protocol implementation.
This was a retrospective study surrounding implementation of an ideal body weight-based dosing protocol for rATG. We compared 75 kidney transplant recipients in whom rATG was dosed based on actual body weight (pre-protocol group) to 64 in whom dosing was based on ideal body weight (post-protocol group), following a nine-month washout.
The mean cumulative rATG dose in the pre-protocol group was 6.3 mg/kg of actual body weight. When ideal body weight was used in the post-protocol group, the mean dose was 4.5 mg/kg of actual body weight. The rejection rate was 18.7% pre-protocol and 23.4% postprotocol, which did not represent a statistically significant difference (p = 0.491). The actual annual cost savings after protocol implementation exceeded $162,000, approximately $2,500 per patient.
Results suggest ideal body weight-based dosing of rATG may reduce exposure and cost, without significantly impacting the risk of rejection in kidney transplant recipients. More studies are needed to confirm these findings.

Symptoms of Giardia include foul-smelling diarrhea, abdominal cramping, bloating, gas, and nausea. Although usually self-limiting, Giardia can progress to dehydration, malnutrition, and failure to thrive, especially in immunocompromised individuals. Early diagnosis and treatment is imperative to prevent and control infection of Giardia. Infectious Disease Society of America diagnostic guidelines recommend obtaining stool studies to diagnose Giardia; when stool studies are negative but suspicion remains high, duodenal aspirate microscopy is the only alternative diagnostic strategy suggested. We report a patient diagnosed incidentally with Giardia from a duodenal biopsy specimen obtained during a workup for a gastrointestinal bleed. There are limited cases of Giardia diagnosed by duodenal biopsy reported in the literature. We review studies that suggest duodenal biopsy can be a very sensitive strategy for the diagnosis of Giardia.In periodontitis patients, dysbiosis of the oral microbiota is not only found at clinically diseased periodontal sites but also at clinically healthy periodontal sites, buccal mucosae, tongue, and saliva. The present study evaluated the safety and efficacy of an oral microbiota transplant (OMT) for the treatment of periodontitis in dogs. Eighteen systemically healthy beagle dogs with naturally occurring periodontitis were enrolled in the study and randomly assigned to a test or control group. A 4-y-old, periodontally healthy female beagle dog served as a universal OMT donor. To reduce periodontal inflammation, all dogs received full-mouth mechanical debridement of teeth and mucosae 2 wk before baseline. At baseline, full-mouth mechanical debridement was repeated and followed by adjunctive subgingival and oral irrigation with 0.1% NaOCl. Subsequently, test dogs were inoculated with an OMT from the healthy donor. No daily oral hygiene was performed after OMT transplantation. The results are based on 79 publications deemed eligible for inclusion after the screening and prioritizing of 1,658 records. The findings are organized according to the 3 main categories of socioeconomic interventions-protecting jobs, enterprises, and workers-although the 3 are intertwined. Most results were derived from global-level gray literature with recommendations for interventions and implicit links to the sustainable development goals. Based on research gaps uncovered in the review, future implementation science research needs to focus on designing, implementing, evaluating, and scaling effective evidence-based socioeconomic interventions; equity-focused, redistributive, and transformative interventions; comprehensive packages of complementary interventions; interventions to upend root causes of systemic social inequities; collaborative and participatory approaches; interventions that integrate environmental sustainability; and city-level interventions.
